Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Fifteenth & Oak LLC (“Architype”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Architype mobile application, the website at myarchitype.com, and related services (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Who We Are

Architype is a style-first architectural discovery platform. The Service lets you discover architectural styles you love, see where those styles are concentrated on a map, and contribute photos of architecture you spot in the world.

Data controller: Fifteenth & Oak LLC (Maryland, United States) Contact: info@fifteenthoak.com Website: myarchitype.com

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you choose, a display name and avatar image. You may sign up with email/password or with Sign in with Apple.
  • Profile and role information. You may tell us your role (e.g., Homeowner, Contractor, Architect/Designer, Investor, or Enthusiast).
  • Photos and uploads. When you contribute architecture photos (“Spotted Home” quick captures or “Add to Architype” detailed posts), we collect the images themselves along with any metadata you add: architectural style tags, descriptions/notes, optional personal ratings, optional build/renovation years, and — for professional listings — optional contact details (such as a listing agent, owner, architect, or developer).
  • Reports and disputes. If you flag content (for example, “I am the homeowner and dispute this post,” “Location or attribution is inaccurate,” or “Other concern”), we collect the report reason and any notes you provide.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Location data. With your permission, we use your device’s GPS to record the approximate location where a photo was taken. We deliberately offset (randomize) precise coordinates by up to roughly ±0.02 degrees before storing them, and we ask you to select a city/region rather than storing an exact street address. Location data is used for the architectural heat map and pattern analysis. You can decline or revoke location permission in your device settings; you may still use most of the Service without it.
  • •▸ Preference and activity data. Your swipe activity (likes, dislikes, super-likes and timestamps) and the style profile calculated from it are stored locally on your device only — we do not upload or receive them. Clearing the app’s data or deleting the app removes this history.
  • Device and local storage. The app stores preferences, filters, swipe history, and session tokens on your device (using secure storage for authentication tokens).

2.3 Automated photo analysis

▸ When you select or take a photo to upload, we send the image to a third-party AI service for analysis. The request is routed through our AI gateway provider (Vibecode) to OpenAI — see “Third-Party Services” below for what each provider receives. This analysis:

  • •Identifies the likely architectural style of the building, and
  • Detects whether the image appears to contain personal information such as human faces, license plates, or house numbers, so we can flag it.

This detection helps us and you identify potentially sensitive content. Important: detection only flags content — it does not automatically blur, mask, or remove anything from your photo, and the image you upload is stored as-is. You are responsible for what you choose to upload. If a published photo contains sensitive information, you or others can report it (see Section 9).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • •Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (accounts, uploads, discovery, maps);
  • •▸ Build your personal style profile from your swipe activity (calculated and stored on your device);
  • •Generate and display the architectural heat map and photo pins;
  • •Analyze uploaded photos to detect architectural style and flag potentially sensitive content, and review reported content;
  • •Detect, investigate, and resolve content disputes, abuse, and violations of our Terms;
  • •Communicate with you about your account and the Service; and
  • •Comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (for EEA/UK users under GDPR): we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), based on your consent (e.g., location and camera access), based on our legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service, content moderation), and to comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following providers to operate the Service. Each processes data on our behalf or as an independent controller under its own privacy policy:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and storage (your account, profile, photos, and related records). https://supabase.com/privacy
  • OpenAI — automated image analysis to detect architectural style and flag potentially sensitive content (faces, license plates, house numbers). When you select or take a photo to upload, the image is sent to OpenAI for this analysis. https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
  • •▸ Vibecode — AI gateway. Our image-analysis requests are not sent to OpenAI directly; they are routed through Vibecode’s proxy infrastructure, which holds the provider API credentials and forwards each request on our behalf. This means photos you submit for analysis transit Vibecode’s servers before reaching OpenAI. https://vibecodeapp.com
  • •▸ Expo (EAS) — over-the-air app updates. When the app launches it contacts Expo’s update service, which receives your platform and the app’s runtime version in order to determine whether an update is available. https://expo.dev/privacy
  • Apple — “Sign in with Apple” authentication, if you choose it. https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy
  • Apple Maps — map tiles and rendering for the heat map and photo pins. https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy

We do not sell your personal information.

5. How We Share Information

  • Publicly, content you choose to contribute. Photos and metadata you submit may be shown to other users in Discover, on the map as pins, and in your profile. Do not upload anything you do not want to be public.
  • Service providers. As described in Section 4.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Architype, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Content Moderation

Photos you upload may appear in the app shortly after you submit them. We may review, remove, or restrict content at any time — for example, in response to a user report or dispute, or if it violates our Terms. Users can report content using the in-app flag feature, which notifies us so we can review it; reporting does not remove content automatically.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information after account deletion where required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, safety, or enforcement of our Terms. Flag/dispute records may be retained to maintain the integrity of moderation decisions.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

  • Location, camera, and photo permissions can be granted or revoked at any time in your device settings.
  • Deleting your content — you can delete photos you have uploaded at any time from within the app.
  • Account deletion — you can permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time from within the app, under Profile → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your login, your style profile, and your uploaded content. You can also email info@fifteenthoak.com and we will process the request for you.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or “share” (as defined by the CPRA) your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

EEA/UK residents (GDPR)

You have the rights described above and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any right, contact info@fifteenthoak.com.

9. Reporting Privacy Concerns

If a photo includes you, your property, or personal information (such as a face, plate, or address), use the in-app flag feature or email info@fifteenthoak.com and we will review it. Homeowners may dispute posts about their property directly through the flag flow.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact info@fifteenthoak.com and we will delete it.

11. International Transfers

We operate the Service and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.

12. Security

We use measures such as secure token storage and encrypted transport to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice within the Service.
